Originally from Yellowknife, NT, Jacq Brasseur (they/them) has over a decade of experience leading teams as a queer and non-binary professional. In 2021, Jacq founded Ivy + Dean Consulting, a bilingual company where they currently serve as CEO & Principal Consultant, whose goal is to bring equity focused, queer-informed and accessible approaches to governance, leadership and programming to small & medium-sized non-profits.
Jacq has been involved in grant giving and grant writing for over a decade. They have spent almost a decade supporting the United Way Northwest Territories in managing their various granting programs, overseeing over $2 million in grant distributions. Jacq served on Grant Adjudication Committees for both the Public Health Agency of Canada’s HIV & Hepatitis C Community Action Fund (MB/SK) and the City of Regina’s Community Investment Grant Program’s Social Development Stream. Most recently, they were a part of the Trans Advisory Committee for the Sonor Foundation’s recent Transcend Impact Challenge which saw over $2 million granted to transgender rights organizations across Canada.
They co-founded what is now known as the Northern Mosaic Network, the only 2SLGBTQ+ human service agency in the Northwest Territories, and proudly served as the agency’s first Executive Director. Since then, they have led various queer and trans agencies. Currently, Jacq volunteers their time as a co-founder and board member of Saskatchewan Queer Entrepreneurs & Professionals, the Director of Equity with the Comité francoqueer de l’ouest, and as a board member with Fora: Network for Change.
Ivy + Dean Consulting is Saskatchewan’s first and only 2SLGBTQ+ Certified Supplier.
When Jacq isn’t busy working or volunteering, you can find them drinking too much Diet Pepsi, playing the most recent Zelda video game, and spending time with their family.
